Altar Society

The mission of the Altar Society is to provide additional hands to assist the cleaning staff to ensure that our parish home is maintained in a clean, orderly and welcoming way that gives honor to God. We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 9:15am - 10:30am in the church for light cleaning. We also perform the following tasks on a less frequent basis:

• A Big Clean is held in the Spring for a thorough, deep cleaning of the church, chapel and sacristy
• Straightening the church before funerals, weddings or special events (removing litter from pews, straightening missals, etc.) as needed
• Annually clean wax from Easter Vigil Mass candle holders
• Wash and iron linen purificators and corporals. These are picked up from the church on Mondays, cleaned in your home and returned to the church on Tuesday or Wendesday.
• Help with preparations for the All Souls Day evening service.
