"Jesus reminds us in this Beatitude that the doors of Heaven will be opened to those who love and serve the needs of others. Jesus calls us to act with mercy, compassion, and love just as He did throughout his earthly ministry. He did not simply feel pity for those who were suffering – He acted! He gave forgiveness. He showed compassion. He met the needs of others both spiritually and physically. He constantly modeled generosity.
In the Archdiocese of Mobile, I see incredible acts of mercy offered through the many hardworking hands of those who serve within the ministries funded by the Catholic Charities Appeal. When you offer a gift to the Catholic Charities Appeal, you too are acting with mercy in support of the services that work to share Christ’s love with our neighbors in need."
"All funds collected are used to show mercy for our neighbors in need here in the southern half of Alabama. I ask that you prayerfully make a pledge according to your means. If you cannot give the recommended monthly pledge, please pledge whatever is possible for you. Most of all, please pray for the success of the Appeal. Let us join together in supporting the needs of others with a gift to the 2023 Catholic Charities Appeal. May God’s blessings be upon your family and may you know the never-failing mercy of Christ."
