The next class in our Mystagogy Series will be taught by Fr. Pat! The word "Scavi" is Italian for excavations. This class will take us under St. Peter's Basilica to the ancient "necropolis" or city of the dead where the tomb of St. Peter is located. For years, this grave site was lost to history, but today the bones of St. Peter are now accessible to those who go on a Scavi Tour when visiting St. Peter's Basilica.
Since we can't all travel to Italy for such a tour, Fr. Pat is going to bring a bit of Rome to Corpus Christi. During his time in Italy as a seminarian, Fr. Pat was able to go on the Scavi Tour in person and over this two-part class he will share his experience with us, as well as share the story of how St. Peter's tomb was uncovered.
As with all our Mystagogy Series classes, no registration is required. All are welcome to join us for this two-part class on Sunday, Sept. 17th and Sunday, Sept. 24th following the 11am Mass in the Adult Ed Room.
