Gretter Diaz Suarez serves as our Lead Pianist and Assistant to our Music Director at Corpus Christi Parish. Gretter began her piano studies at the Manuel Samuel music conservatory in Cuba in 1994. She graduated in 2001 prior to moving to the United States. Gretter played both piano and xylophone at Murphy High School and was a member of their Symphony Band from 2001 until 2005. After high school, Gretter studied Music, with a concentration in Piano Performance, at the University of South Alabama. She earned the Sue Hanlein Piano Scholarship for the years 2005-2010. Additionally, Gretter won First Place at the DeBose National Piano Competition for three consecutive years (2006, 2007 and 2008). Gretter has been involved in music ministry since 2005. She typically plays piano at 9 a.m. Sunday Mass and for our 8:15 a.m. Mass on Fridays. She also works closely with our Music Director to prepare music for cantors and other musicians. Gretter and her husband, Gaston, have been married for 12 years and have three children (two attend Corpus Christi School and one is currently a student at McGill-Toolen Catholic). They have been members of the parish since 2022.
