  Being a Sponsor for Confirmation is a great honor. When choosing your Sponsor, keep in mind that whoever you chose is taking on a significant role for the rest of your life. This person should be someone who will assist you in preparing to receive Confirmation, be present at your Confirmation, and help you live our your Christian faith to the fullest.
  
  Requirements for Sponsor:
  
  Must be a Confirmed Catholic at least 16 years of age
  
  Attends Mass regularly on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation and worthily receives the Eucharist
  
  Cannot be a parent of the candidate
  
  Lives a life in accordance to the teachings of the Church
  
  If married, marriage must be sacramentally recognized by the Catholic Church
